Stayed in the motel, thinking it would be 4* accommodation as advertised, lol. It's 2* really, but the location was the saving grace. Rooms need a good clean / refresh, but luckily we didn't spend much time inside. Good value for money if breakfast was included, which it wasn't.
Good welcome and simple rooms. Good queen bed and clean bathroom.
The motel manager was rather stroppy when we asked for a late check out by 1-2 hrs vs 10am checkout as we needed to change later for a funeral. “No all rooms are needed immediately.”. Well you can’t clean them all immediately. They could have left ours until later as they cleaned the others. No flexibility. Not a good attitude for hospitality sector.
Otherwise the fellow that greeted us and helped us into our rooms was great.
I arrived by train around 1 pm and could check into my room immediately, and I was able to have a ground floor room. Very clean and well equiped., The hotel is close to a taxi rank and there are many restaurants to choose from and the hotel has a great lunch and dinner menu. I will definitely return again. Well done and many thanks!
Terrible. I don’t usually write negative reviews because having worked in hospo I know it can be tough, but honestly I’m just so saddned but this. Thought I’d grab a quick meal before before catching the train back to Sydney. Deadset waited 45 minutes for pasta napoletana (literally just store bought pasta and sauce) and received it over cooked and bland. Asked for a take away and they didn’t even have cutlery so now I have pasta but no way to eat it until I get home in 2 hours in sydney. Not worth the price. That’s $25 I’ll never see again.
Rooms dated for the price charged. $250 a night. Clean and well equipped. Quite room. Good cafe part of the hotel.
As a family of two adults and three kids, we were traveling from northern NSW and staying the night locally. On our drive we decided to book here for dinner, we made the booking at 3pm for a 6pm arrival. We arrived and they couldn’t find our booking so we were told to go to the kitchen staff and ask them. We did, they couldn’t find record either so told us to go back to the bar and ask for a manager. We did and he said he’d check the sheet. I showed him my email booking confirmation also.
Whilst we were standing near the bar waiting for our table a female staff member told me that the children will need to ‘back away from the bar’. I said, I’m sorry what? She rudely replied that the children were standing too close to the bar (14, 11 & 7) with us and the need to back away now. 🤷🏻♀️
The manager returned and told us that the kitchen staff print off the booking list at around 2.15pm and so our booking wasn’t recorded as we booked at 3pm! They were ‘fully booked’ so had no table for us. He said he’d try and find us a table in the pizzeria but after the pathetic service we left. We had just driven 10 hours and we’re looking for a meal and a drink! So disappointed and will never return or recommend 😕
They have a very varied menu, you can dine at the bistro (opens at 5:30 p.m.) or at the trattoria (pizza & pasta). My suggestion is to book in in order to find a table specially on busy days.
Great food and great prices for Bowral.
Legend of a bloke on the front desk. Stayed for a work Christmas party. Walked through the bar area all the time to save time walking from accom to pub. Legends for allowing it.
